Honoring military working dogs by The U.S. Army on Flickr.
Military working dogs are currently classified as “equipment” by the U.S. military. While there are programs to place retired service animals in private homes, this classification makes it difficult not only to transport dogs back home after their service, but almost impossible to release money to fund veterinary care for their medical problems, many of which are a result of their work for the country.
There is currently a bill in the US Senate to change this classification. Please contact your senators today to add your support.
